The Liebster Award…

18 Sep

I’m not going to pretend to know much about the blogging community, mainly because I know nothing about the blogging community.
They (it?) apparently know(s) about me though, as Diary of an Internet Nobody has been nominated for the Liebster Blog Award.
(Liebster is German for “favourite”, I’m told)

Now, I’ve done a bit of research on this award, and it’s a difficult thing to pin down.
In essence, it appears to be a peer-nominated recognition, voted for by other eligible blogs. It also comes with attached questions to answer, we’ll get to them in a minute.

To be nominated, you need to have a blog that has fewer than 200 followers, answer the questions, nominate some other blogs, and pass on the questions to them, or write your own.

(I have not been able to determine whether it’s supposed to be 5, 11, – or any number in between – of blogs to nominate or questions to set, so I’m going for five of each)

I was nominated by the excellent Neglected Space blog, for which I am very grateful.

My nominations are as follows;
The Bohemian Blog.

Ryan’s UKTMF Blog.

Geeky artist librarian

Zeebra Designs.

Gmans Galaxy .

The questions I was set, along with my answers, are below
My questions follow them.

1) What book would you happily read over and over again?
The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (The whole series)

2) Who was your favourite teacher, and why?
Mr Wylam, our physics teacher, he made learning a fun and enjoyable experience, and all the easier for it too.

3) What three wishes would you choose to have granted?
For my girlfriend to have no more health problems.
To be able to think of something to write at any given time.
To only need two wishes.

4) Your favourite holiday destination?
Vendee, France.

5) Most hated chore?
Ironing, no contest.

6) Favourite dessert?
I don’t eat desserts.

7) Least favourite mode of transport?
Motorbike. Too many friends now dead due to these terrifying machines.

8) As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A forensic scientist.

9) Fantasy place to live if money no object?
Right here.

10) Dream career?
Record shop owner.

11) Movie you would flatly refuse to see, no matter how recommended by people?
Lord of the bloody rings.

My questions to you;

What made you start your blog?

How did you pick your theme?

What band would you join if you could?

What new ending would you give a movie, and why?

What animal would you bring back from extinction, and why?

Thanks again to Neglected Space, I’m still a bit gobsmacked that you picked me to start with.

And thanks a lot to Richard (you know who you are) for getting me interested in doing this in the first place.

Normal service will be resumed shortly…
