Just Jot It January: Day eight. Melodic Randomiser Unspooled 5…

I’ve chosen to use today’s Just Jot It January post to bring you 2016’s first edition of the musical retrospective rummage sale that is the Melodic Randomiser Unspooled, my tape shuffle jukebox.

So if you like ’80s pop, shouty ’90s metal, or tripped out, reggae-tinged dub, this is the post for you.

First up, everyone’s favourite blond bombshell, Ms Ciccone herself, Madonna and the early career remix album You Can Dance.
Here, in its flamboyant, shoulder-padded glory, from the deluxe edition no less, is Where’s The Party

…which segues not at all smoothly into the angry, angst-ridden noise of Danzig and their imaginatively titled album, 4, from which comes this cheery little number, Brand New God

…and ending with another complete change of pace and direction with the sublime groove of Sabres Of Paradise and the cassette single of Wilmot.

Now, you don’t get that on Radio 2.

      Yay, someone else with my bizarre taste in music, hahaha. Glad you liked them. I had to edit it about three times because I found the YouTube links were dead on a couple of the tracks.

        My method for buying music has always been of the “I’ve never heard of that, I’ll have it” variety. ;~}

        *laughs* I was like that too, back in the day when I could afford to purchase music… alas, the income for music got overtaken by the income for books…

        Oh, books, yeah I know that one too. I spend so much time blogging and writing nowadays I rarely have time to read and yet my book pile continues to grow. ;~}

        Sounds about right… I left over 2000 books behind when I moved from OK back to VA in 2014… only brought maybe 50 books with me and now I probably have tripled that in just over a year. Plus I have a full Kindle and tons more books saved on my Kindle cloud.. I may never read them all!

        Ah! I already have this marked to purchase later this month when my funds are available… another writer here on WordPress has stories accepted there too πŸ˜€ I will let you know how I enjoyed them once purchased and read πŸ™‚

        Hahaha, thanks.
        I know, I’m a hopeless blogslut and can’t help promoting myself, so forgive me if I’ve plugged it to you before. I’m especially pleased that I was chosen to have extra stories included and was also allowed to dedicate the book. It’s my first published work and I’m inordinately proud of the fact.
        Next stop: being paid for something!

        No worries.. I don’t mind people plugging things with me.. it’s what a community is all about.. right? I know what you mean about being paid for something… I am hoping for that this year too πŸ™‚ Good luck!
