The Wrong Stuff: Book launch…

21 Nov

The day has finally arrived!

My debut novel (that still seems like a weird thing to see written down) is published today and I am, not to put too fine a point on it, Very VERY EXCITED!!!

Yes, my accidental novel, The Wrong Stuff, a mystery thriller with a sci-fi twist and occasional flashes of black humour, is released today on Amazon in paperback (Kindle version to follow soon) and will also be available from Barnes and Noble in a couple of weeks.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank a few people, for putting me on the road that lead me to this extraordinary and surreal point in my blogging journey:

The sickeningly talented Mr Darmon Richter, who inspired me to take up the hobby of thinking up stuff and writing it down in the first place.

The wonderful Linda G Hill, who is largely responsible for me getting into writing fiction, due to her excellent Stream of consciousness Saturday feature.

Catherine Broughton, who was instrumental in my first short stories being published in various anthologies.

Anna Trowbridge from ATLA publishing, to whom I eventually submitted the manuscript for my book.

To you, my charming, intelligent, discerning and incredibly good-looking readers, without whom I would just have been another weirdo on the internet talking to himself; thank you for all your encouragement and support over the last four years or so, it just keeps on getting more fun every time I post.

And last but absolutely not least, my beautiful wife, Rhonda, who has said nice things about my writing for as long as I’ve known her (even when she was thousands of miles away and didn’t have to) and who has now put up with me in person for two years, without going completely mad.
Frankly, she deserves a medal.

So, with Christmas just around the corner….Oh, you get the idea;

Please Buy My Book!

Thank you for your attention.

Congratulations, Guy!! So happy for you. 😀 You know, it was a year ago next week, on November 28th, that the SoCS prompt was “stuff.” Hard to believe, isn’t it?
Hope you’re celebrating tonight! Cheers!! ❤

Congrats, Guy! This is exciting news. I can’t wait to read it, but I wonder, will you be offering this on Kindle? I know it isn’t as profitable for a writer, but I honestly haven’t the space for paper books these days. Kindle is the only way I can read the many books that interest me.

Thank you, Lori. It will indeed, the Kindle version will be out soon, so I’m told.

Great to hear. Would you like me to do a book promotion on my blog for you? I’d just need a media kit. And once it comes out on Kindle, I will also review it for you. If you want the promo, just email me at

        That’s very good of you.
        Umm, “media kit”?

      • Lori Carlson

        November 22, 2016 at 07:32

A media kit includes some or all of the following:
        photo of the book’s cover
        photo of the author
book blurb or ‘about the book’ (usually in word doc)
a sample chapter of the book (if you want that included)
        an author’s bio (word doc.)
release date of the book (if necessary)
where to purchase/or pre-order (URL) – Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, etc.
any social media sites where the author can be contacted – Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Goodreads, LinkedIn, etc.
the author’s personal or professional website/blog
any other information you may want to include – a video premiere of the book, a few pre-release reviews, etc.

If you have none of that set up, I can always piece something together from your book’s Amazon page since most of that is usually included there.

Ok. No, that’s not no the Amazon page. They didn’t use the cover blurb I sent them, for some reason.
I can get most of that to you, I think.
I’ll mail you later. Thanks again.
