Cosmic Photo prompt…

04 Aug

On time once again for the Friday prompt, to give you some guidance for the next edition of K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, which is using my choice of theme this week; Birds and bees.

Anything with wings will do, bugs and bats are just as acceptable, so let your imagination soar and seek out some avian and insectile inspiration for Monday’s post.

*****

To get involved with the challenge, post a photo to your blog on Monday, add a pingback to this post (or to K’lee’s) and don’t forget to tag your post #CosPhoChal. Alternatively, add a link to your blog in the comments of either mine or K’lee’s post and we’ll come and check out your entry. Any and all effects, editing, Photoshop, Instagram, morphing, collages or whatever other post production techniques you fancy are permitted, (in fact, they’re actively encouraged!) so get creative and turn your photos into artworks for the Cosmic Photo Challenge. #CosPhoChal

What did you decide to do about the pictures/space?

I’m slowly moving some of the posts over to Photo Sans Frontiers and deleting them, just to give me time to work out a new blog.

I think the best plan is to somehow archive this one for anyone who still wants to see it, then transfer my domain name to another, similarly named blog and carry on as if nothing happened. Only this time, I’ll optimise all my media files when I upload them.
That should give me another few years of free blogging.

      Thoughts?

You’re not blogging for free now, are you? Check your options with WP. They offered me lindaghill.blog or some such thing for free for some reason. I now own it, but I haven’t used it.

I am on a free plan, yeah. My domain is with 123reg, though

Okay, you lost me. I thought you had to pay WP to get rid of the “.wordpress” in your URL.

Nope. I paid 123reg.com for a domain name and domain mapping, so they took care of all that side of things and I just carried on as I did before.

If you let your domain name payments lapse, the site reverts to it’s original WordPress url.

Same as if you pay WP directly. If you don’t mind my asking, how much do you pay them? My site is $133US/year including the domain mapping.

My domain name (my only blogging expense) is £13 a year
